Description of Mount Abraham
Mount Abraham is located in Maine, United States. It has an elevation of 1233 meters above sea level. It is located at the following coordinates: (44.9723, -70.3259).
Mount Abraham (or Mount Abram as it generally called in this area) towers behind Mt. Abram High School in Salem Township. Access to the trail, however, is out West Kingfield Road in Kingfield.
The climb is rigorous - parts of it require one to almost climb with hands and feet up an dried up stream bed. The view, however, is well worth the climb, if it is a clear day. There is an old fire tower at the peak, but the cabin part is gone - the roof has been placed to form a small shelter that one can climb under.
It will be an all day hike, unless one is in very good shape. Be prepared for the hike down to be very hard on the knees.
